Professionalism.....experience......innovation.....

who-1.jpg (13869 bytes)In 1976, Sam Buchanan was asked to photograph a
(courageous) friend's wedding, and in the course of
researching wedding photography, Sam came to realize how unimaginative much of the current wedding photography appeared. At that point, Sam decided to concentrate on providing the most comprehensive, innovative, and professional approach to wedding photography possible.

The results exceeded all expectations. For nearly thirty years brides have requested Sam's wedding services due to his professionalism and willingness to expend the extra effort. Many of these clients have found not only a family photographer, but a dear friend.

We value our clients, and receive a genuine thrill from recording priceless memories as our client family grows.

Wedding photography has changed greatly in recent decades. The 70's saw the introduction of "special effects" such as double
exposures, and various soft focus effects. In the late 80's, the most innovative photographers began to question the value of many of the "cliche" photos that had become part of the standard wedding
coverage, and introduced a more candid, journalistic approach to wedding coverage. Interestingly, we were seeing the same trends in our photography, and our clients have overwhelmingly embraced the more natural and fresher approach. Gone are the grueling three-hour photo sessions and the incredibly inconvenient extended sessions following the ceremony. Our coverages are tailored to providing a unique and personalized coverage of your wedding without putting you through the "wedding grind"!

We usually begin the photography only ninety minutes before the ceremony, and if any portraits at the church are required following the ceremony, we limit the session to twenty minutes or less. We are going to get you to the reception as soon as possible! Many of our clients choose to have all the photography at the church before the ceremony.

Sam is a member of the Tennessee Valley Professional Photographers Association, and the Professional  Photographers of America. He also regularly consults with  and for some of the top photographers in the nation.

We can provide references if you wish; however, you have probably already heard of our reputation as you visited with other wedding professionals and friends whom we have worked with in the past.

"Thank you for creating pictures that will provide us a lifetime of memories and happiness!"
